making dvd

I fancy making a dvd of my filmed stuff rather than wanky camera-vhs copy's

1 ) other than buying a drive and blanks: what do I need to know/do

2 ) why is tony blair lucking like a vampire just sucked the life out of him ?

3 ) alternatives to 1 : any suggestions ???

1)get some DVD editing software, might come with the drive?

2) becuase hes been brown nosing Bush so much he forgot to eat and drink

1 ) you could do a lot worse than the panasonic a05 4x DVD writer. all the software you could need for DVD 5.1 production can be found in downloadable form at www.sonicfoundry.com (Vegas Video, Sound Forge and DVD Architect). I really rate all their software and have pretty much ditched Premiere now.

Funny how Sadam is not a bad guy, has no weapons of mass destruction, and should be left alone.

If Bush is to be bashed by the international community for not acknowledging the Kyoto Treaty, then why wasn't Sadam Hussein equally bashed for intentionally detonating oil fields that belonged to Kuwait during the Desert Storm war in the early 90's?

Answer, the environmentalists are a bunch of wallflowers against unfair tyrants.

The oil wells that Sadam ordered burned consumed something like 6 million barrels a day, for at least 10 months. Sadam Hussein will do the same in another war, he's already said he will.

Has the environmental community demanded that Sadam not burn anymore wells, ever again?

We all know the answer. Their wallflowers against tyrants who claim to have won re-election by a 11 million votes to zero, and attack men in suits because they fear them less.

That is pathetic, to choose your protests by what men wear. If you are against Bush, and for Sadam, you're an idiot.

You should be against both, if you're not against both, then you choose your fights by which one is safest to fight. And that make you no different than the leaders you protest.

Now, can I cut full fram movies onto it - and like use the full disc for them . 2gb plus

menus and thelike. does the software cover that stuff too, or do I need extra's

The first four posts on this topic (only one was mine) mentioned Bush and/or Blair. If you hadn't brought it up, it wouldn't have continued.

As for DVD. No matter how you do it, you'll probably miss a step or two the first time through the process.

If you know other filmmakers who you can witness going through the process before doing your own, you can avoid part of the bleeding edge technology issues that come up.

For instance, are you happy spitting out one DVD every couple of hours, (I've not made DVD's myself yet, but I believe the fastest they can be made is in double-real time, or it can take longer than real time) or do you need to make a 100 at a time.

It might help to know what is acceptable to you in terms of time of reproduction and if it ties up your main computer or not.

How come feature films look great on VHS?

That one issue alone can completely alter your approach.

I suspect that I might only want 2-10 dvds. made upon request.

VHS might prove a more practical delivery for the masses. ( should they want it )

i can do the vhs thing direct. just need tapes of an appropriate length - so no good popping into dixons - they dont do 90 minute tapes.
